We recommend private classes to students that want to progress quickly, need more flexibility, or who have already studied the language in the past. With private classes, you can pick up right where you left off. You can also take the time to fill in any gaps that were missed along the way. Strømmen offers private classes, online only classes, and group classes (in person and online) all at a great rate while making sure our team of award winning local instructors make a living wage. Current students can also join us for fun events like foreign language movie night, foreign language kareoke night, and more free events.

Is a private language tutor worth it?

We certainly feel they are worth it! At Strømmen you will be paired with a tutor or group class that fits your needs, learning style and goals perfectly. Some of our students take both group and private lessons with a tutor. We always give our students the “VIP treatment” ( Huffpost )

Can you hire someone to teach you a language?

Absolutely! Here at Strømmen, you will find highly skilled and experienced tutors offering private and small group language lessons. Depending on your learning preferences, you can craft a personalized and focused program of one-one-one lessons with the close participation of our tutors. Or you have the option of joining one of our many small groups, available at many levels, from beginner to advanced, in a number of languages.

How much is an online language tutor?

Many of our instructors in the LA area offer private lessons at $39/Hr with a package of 20 hours online or at their location. Our small group lessons are available as low as $227 for the early bird rate.

How much do language tutors charge per hour?

Private lessons (online or in person)

Hourly $59
10-hour package $490 ($49 hourly)
Best Value 20-hour package $780 ($39 hourly) – Intended for students that will take at least 1 hour per week. Packages expire in 1 year.
